The Board of Argonaut is delighted to announce the appointment of Greg Southee as Head of Corporate Finance. Greg will commence this role upon his return to Perth expected by 1 March 2021. The proposed changes have necessitated a rationalisation of Argonaut’s Asian-based business. Argonaut remains committed to the importance of the resource industry relationship between Australia and Asia. This is expected to see Argonaut establish a representation office in Shanghai, PRC. In respect to Hong Kong, Argonaut will look to retain appropriate licensing to host roadshows and undertake temporary regulated activities, as against maintaining a permanent office.
With Greg taking over the role of Head of Corporate Finance, I will not be reducing my workload but rather be focused on Argonaut’s Equity Capital Market activities and Bridge & Special Situations Financings. I will also continue to assist with business development and strategic initiatives across Argonaut.
We congratulate Greg on his promotion. We also wish to sincerely thank those Hong Kong staff that will not be relocating to Perth. We have had a loyal local staff and wish them well in their future endeavours.
About Greg Southee
Qualifications: Bachelor degrees in Law and Commerce (with majors in finance and accounting), Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment and a Fellow of FINSIA.
Greg has 18 years investment banking experience advising clients in the natural resources and resource services sectors in respect of merger and acquisition, financial advisory, restructuring and capital markets transactions across a wide range of jurisdictions.
He joined Argonaut directly from university shortly after Argonaut’s initial inception and has been actively involved in its growth since that time.
In 2011, Greg relocated to Hong Kong to assist in the establishment of Argonaut’s Hong Kong office. He has been Hong Kong based for over nine (9) years and is a Responsible Officer under the Hong Kong Securities & Futures Commission. Since September 2017, Greg has held the role of Head of Asia and Executive Director during which the Hong Kong office has performed well.
Greg also is a Board member and a significant shareholder of Argonaut.
