Spot gold fell to US$1,877/oz. U.S. gold futures fell 1.5% to US$1,883/oz.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 943 points, or 3.4%, to 26,520, the S&P 500 lost 120 points, or 3.5%, to 3,271 and the Nasdaq Composite dropped 426 points, or 3.7%, to 11,005.
