Key News Overnight:
Spot gold gained 0.8% to US$1,970.90/oz, while U.S. gold futures rose 1.15% to US$1,986.5/oz, a new record close.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average .DJI rose 160.29 points, or 0.61%, to 26,539.57, the S&P 500 .SPX gained 40 points, or 1.24%, to 3,258.44 and the Nasdaq Composite .IXIC added 140.85 points, or 1.35%, to 10,542.94.
Brent crude futures gained 45 US cents to US$43.75 a barrel. West Texas Intermediate crude futures were up 23 cents to $41.27.
