    Key News Overnight: 

    US stocks extended a weekly loss on Friday amid growing tensions on the Persian Gulf and speculation the Federal Reserve may limit rate cuts

    Prime Minister Theresa May will lead a meeting of the UK government’s emergency committee on Monday to discuss the security of shipping in the Persian Gulf. The UK has threatened Tehran with “serious consequences” and demanded release

    Hong Kong police fired tear gas late Sunday to disperse demonstrators who had surrounded China’s main local government office, remnants of the latest rally against its now-suspended effort to allow extraditions to mainland China

    Nickel’s advance halted Friday after one of its biggest rallies this decade prompted Citigroup Inc. to Bank of Montreal to caution that the steelmaking material had jumped too quickly. Prices slipped on Friday after surging 17% in the previous seven days

    Oil jumped in after-market trading on Saturday following the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corp seizing a British oil tanker and a Liberian-flagged ship in the Strait of Hormuz. Brent futures rose as much as 1.4%, while WTI futures also edged higher
