Key News Overnight:
Spot gold gained 0.5% to US$1,870/oz. Earlier, it touched US$1,875/oz, its highest since Nov. 23. U.S. gold futures settled up 0.5% at US$1,875/oz.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 104 points, or 0.4%, to 30,174, the S&P 500 gained 10 points, or 0.3%, to 3,702 and the Nasdaq Composite added 63 points, or 0.5%, to 12,583.
