Spot gold rose 1.1% to US$1,907/oz, after hitting its highest level since Sept. 22 at US$1,912/oz. U.S. gold futures settled up 1.2% at US$1,916/oz
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 35 points, or 0.13%, to 27,817, the S&P 500 gained 18 points, or 0.53%, to 3,381 and the Nasdaq Composite added 159 points, or 1.42%, to 11,327.
