Argonaut’s research focuses on natural resources (mining, energy and associated service companies) and where warranted, the research team covers special situations. Our 5 member Research Team presently covers over 50 companies formally, and at least a further 50 companies informally. The informal coverage is a valuable component of Argonaut’s research service, given our Perth Office's proximity to the many mining companies based in Western Australia.

Argonaut does not constrain its thought process and uses a combination of:

• Top-down analysis to identify themes and sectors; and
• Bottom-up analysis to select individual stocks

In presenting Argonaut’s views, the weight of the arguments put forward is more important than the weight of the document. Argonaut provides research in a clear, concise and readable manner through:

This is reflected on Bloomberg where our Analysts are rated No. 1 in Australia for over 50% of companies covered. The Research team is keenly focused on fundamental research and valuation in order to support Argonaut’s views. Argonaut was the only firm in Australia to have 3 analysts rated in the top 15 Metals & Mining Analysts in 2011*.
